Description
SURFAZ B CREAM by FRANCO-INDIAN PHARMACEUTICALS
Name
- Brand Name: SURFAZ B CREAM

Composition
SURFAZ B CREAM contains two active ingredients:

Frequently asked questions
Here are the most frequently asked questions about SURFAZ B CREAM:
What is SURFAZ B CREAM used for?
SURFAZ B CREAM is primarily used to treat various fungal skin infections, including athlete's foot (tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), candidiasis, and sweat rash. It also helps in managing associated symptoms like inflammation, itching, redness, and swelling. It may also be used for conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis when a fungal infection is present.
How does SURFAZ B CREAM work?
SURFAZ B CREAM contains two active ingredients: Clotrimazole and Beclometasone. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that works by stopping the growth of fungi by damaging their cell membranes. Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, redness, and swelling by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body called prostaglandins. Together, they clear the infection and relieve associated symptoms.
What is the usual dosage and how should I apply it?
A thin layer of SURFAZ B CREAM should be applied to the clean and dry affected skin area as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application, unless the hands are the treated area. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose, or vagina. It is crucial to complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve, to ensure the infection is fully cured and to prevent its recurrence. Do not apply more often or for longer than prescribed.
What are the possible side effects of SURFAZ B CREAM?
Common side effects at the application site may include itching, dryness, redness, burning sensation, stinging, irritation, or a tingling/pricking sensation (paresthesia). These side effects are usually mild and temporary. If they persist or worsen, or if you experience severe side effects such as allergic reactions (rashes, swelling, shortness of breath), seek immediate medical attention.
Is SURFAZ B CREAM safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
SURFAZ B CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and only if prescribed by your doctor. Limited human studies are available for pregnancy, and animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. If you are breastfeeding and the cream is applied to the breast or nipple area, thoroughly wash it off before nursing your baby to prevent ingestion. Avoid using it on large skin areas or for prolonged periods.
Can SURFAZ B CREAM be taken with other medications?
As SURFAZ B CREAM is for external use, it is less likely to interact significantly with other medicines. However, it is always important to inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, especially other topical creams or medicines like mifepristone, adesleukin, or ritonavir, as they should be used with caution.
What precautions should be taken while using SURFAZ B CREAM?
Avoid applying the cream to your face, open wounds, or covering the treated area with airtight dressings (like bandages) unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Do not use this medicine for skin conditions not caused by fungi. Inform your doctor if you have underlying conditions like liver disease, adrenal gland problems, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, or other skin conditions (e.g., acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, psoriasis). It is not recommended for use in children under two years without a doctor's approval. If your symptoms do not improve after one to two weeks of treatment (depending on the infection type), consult your doctor.
What happens if a dose of SURFAZ B CREAM is missed?
If you miss an application of SURFAZ B CREAM, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply extra cream to compensate for a missed dose.
How should SURFAZ B CREAM be stored?
Store SURFAZ B CREAM in its original container, tightly closed, in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is below 30ºC (or between 10ºC to 25ºC). Keep it out of sight and reach of children and pets.
