Frequently asked questions

ENZOMACTAB: Frequently Asked Questions

ENZOMACTAB is a medication containing a combination of the enzymes Bromelain and Trypsin, along with the antioxidant Rutoside. It is commonly prescribed to manage pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with various conditions.

What is ENZOMACTAB used for?

ENZOMACTAB is primarily used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation and swelling. It is prescribed for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, sprains, strains, and post-operative pain and swelling. It can also help with pain from minor surgical procedures like tooth extraction, headaches, menstrual cramps, and promote wound healing.

How does ENZOMACTAB work?

ENZOMACTAB works through its active ingredients. Bromelain, derived from pineapple extract, and Trypsin are enzymes that help by increasing blood flow to the affected area and breaking down proteins involved in pain and swelling. Rutoside, an antioxidant, protects the body from damage caused by free radicals and further reduces swelling, promoting healing. Together, these components reduce inflammation, aid in tissue repair, and help remove dead skin cells.

What is the usual dosage of ENZOMACTAB?

The exact dose and duration of ENZOMACTAB will be determined by your doctor based on your specific medical condition and how well you respond to the treatment. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions precisely and not exceed the recommended dose. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water, without chewing or crushing it. It can be taken with or without food.

What are the possible side effects of ENZOMACTAB?

While generally well-tolerated, some common side effects of ENZOMACTAB may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, rash, and mouth sores. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. If any side effects persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult your doctor. Rarely, it may cause dizziness or blurred vision.

Is ENZOMACTAB safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

ENZOMACTAB is generally not recommended for pregnant women due to the presence of Bromelain, which may increase the risk of abortion or miscarriage. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, it is crucial to inform your doctor before taking this medication.

Can ENZOMACTAB be taken with other medications?

It is important to inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter and herbal remedies. ENZOMACTAB may increase the risk of side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, and diarrhea when combined with certain antibiotics such as penicillin and chloramphenicol.

What precautions should be taken while using ENZOMACTAB?

Before taking ENZOMACTAB, inform your doctor if you have any existing medical conditions, particularly liver or kidney disease, or blood clotting issues. If you have allergies to pineapple, carrot, papaya, fennel, or certain pollens, you should avoid this medication. Inform your doctor about taking ENZOMACTAB before any surgical procedure to prevent potential bleeding risks. If you experience dizziness or blurred vision, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery. A change in stool color, consistency, and odor can occur, which is usually harmless.

What happens if a dose of ENZOMACTAB is missed?

If you miss a dose of ENZOMACTAB, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. Always consult your doctor if you are unsure.

How should ENZOMACTAB be stored?

Store ENZOMACTAB as advised by your pharmacist or doctor, typically in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
