Frequently asked questions
Here are the most frequently asked questions about Saridon Advance 10 Tablets:
What is Saridon Advance used for?
Saridon Advance is used for fast and effective relief from mild to moderate pain, including severe headaches, migraines, backaches, muscle pain, rheumatic pain, toothaches, and period pain. It also helps alleviate discomfort associated with cold and flu symptoms and can reduce fever.
How does Saridon Advance work?
Saridon Advance contains a combination of Paracetamol (acetaminophen) and Caffeine. Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever. Caffeine enhances the pain-relieving effects of Paracetamol by improving its absorption and prolonging its action, and it can also help improve alertness.
What is the usual dosage for Saridon Advance?
For adults and children over 12 years of age, the usual dosage is 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed more than 3 single doses in 24 hours, or a maximum of 6 tablets in a day. It should not be taken for more than two days continuously without consulting a doctor. The tablets should be swallowed with water.
What are the possible side effects of Saridon Advance?
Common side effects may include agitation, nervousness, insomnia, restlessness, increased heart rate, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain. More serious, but rare, side effects can include liver damage or allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, itchy throat, rash, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, consult a doctor.
Is Saridon Advance safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Saridon Advance is generally not recommended during pregnancy unless specifically advised and supervised by a doctor, and only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. During breastfeeding, it is advisable to consult your doctor before use, as both Paracetamol and Caffeine can pass into breast milk and may affect the baby, potentially causing irritability or sleep disturbances.
Can Saridon Advance be taken with other medications?
Avoid taking Saridon Advance with any other medications that contain paracetamol to prevent overdose. It may interact with certain medications such as blood thinners (e.g., warfarin), some antibiotics, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants (e.g., tizanidine), anti-nausea medicines (e.g., metoclopramide), and cholesterol medicines (e.g., cholestyramine). It's important to inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking to avoid potential interactions.
What precautions should be taken while using Saridon Advance?
Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Exercise caution if you have pre-existing conditions such as liver or kidney disease, asthma, chronic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, peptic ulcers, or heart issues. Limit your intake of other caffeine-containing products (like coffee, tea, and energy drinks) while taking this medicine to avoid excessive caffeine intake. Saridon Advance is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
What happens if a dose of Saridon Advance is missed?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one, as this can increase the risk of side effects.
How should Saridon Advance be stored?
Store Saridon Advance tablets in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture. The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 25°C, or below 30°C. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
