DABFIT EYE DROPS

DABFIT EYE DROPS, manufactured by Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited, is an ophthalmic solution used to alleviate symptoms of allergic eye conditions.

  • Name: Dabfit Eye Drops
  • Composition: Each ml contains Bepotastine Besilate 15 mg, equivalent to Bepotastine 10.70 mg (1.5% w/v), along with Benzalkonium Chloride 0.005% w/v as a preservative.
  • Uses: Dabfit Eye Drops are prescribed for the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis, which involves eye inflammation, redness, swelling, and watering caused by allergic reactions. Bepotastine, an antihistamine, works by blocking histamine, a chemical responsible for allergic symptoms.
  • Dosage and Administration: This medicine is for external ophthalmic use only. The typical adult dosage is one drop per affected eye, twice a day, or as directed by a healthcare provider. Wash hands thoroughly before use. Tilt the head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and administer the prescribed number of drops. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to prevent contamination. After instillation, gently press the corner of the eye near the nose for 1-2 minutes to prevent drainage. If wearing contact lenses, remove them before application and wait at least 10-15 minutes before reinserting.
  • Side Effects: Common side effects may include mild taste changes, eye irritation, headache, nasopharyngitis (common cold), and temporary blurred vision. Other reported side effects include sleepiness, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, fatigue, and abnormal liver function tests. Most side effects are temporary; consult a doctor if they persist or worsen.
  • Precautions:
    • Inform your doctor about any allergies to Bepotastine or other ingredients.
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
    • Not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
    • Avoid driving or operating machinery if temporary blurred vision occurs after use.
    • Do not discontinue treatment abruptly, as symptoms may return or worsen.
    • Inform your doctor about existing kidney, liver, heart, or lung conditions.
  • Storage: Store Dabfit Eye Drops in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Discard the solution one month after opening the vial.
