What is RELUB EYE DROP used for?

RELUB EYE DROP is primarily used to relieve symptoms of dry eyes, such as burning, irritation, and discomfort. It is also used to manage eye dryness caused by exposure to wind or sun, and it can be used following laser or cataract eye surgery to protect the eyes from further irritation.

How does RELUB EYE DROP work?

RELUB EYE DROP contains Carboxymethylcellulose (Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose), which acts as an ophthalmic lubricant. It works by increasing the viscosity of tears in the eye, mimicking natural tears, to provide a protective and hydrating shield on the ocular surface. This helps to maintain the water balance, lubricate the eyes, and offer temporary relief from dryness and discomfort.

What is the usual dosage for RELUB EYE DROP?

The typical dosage is to instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. The frequency and duration of use should be determined by your doctor based on your specific condition.

What are the possible side effects of RELUB EYE DROP?

Common side effects may include a temporary stinging or burning sensation in the eye, eye irritation, itching, discomfort, redness, and temporary blurring of vision. If these symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience severe allergic reactions or eye pain, you should consult your doctor immediately.

Is RELUB EYE DROP safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Information regarding the safety of RELUB EYE DROP during pregnancy and breastfeeding is limited, and its risks and benefits are unclear. Can RELUB EYE DROP be taken with other medications?

There are no reported significant drug-drug interactions with RELUB EYE DROP. However, if you are using other eye drops, it is recommended to wait for at least 5-15 minutes between applications to prevent dilution. Always inform your doctor about any other medications or herbal supplements you are using.

What precautions should be taken when using RELUB EYE DROP?

Remove contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. To prevent contamination, do not touch the tip of the dropper to your eye or any other surface, and replace the cap tightly after each use. If eye pain, changes in vision, or persistent redness/irritation occurs for more than 72 hours, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

What happens if a dose is missed?

If you miss a dose, instill the drops as soon as you remember, provided the next scheduled dose is more than 4 hours away. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.
