Description
INDACTIV G CAP by GLENMARK PHARMACEUTICALS
Name
- Common Name: Indactiv-G (Powder For Inhalation) Capsule
- Brand Name: INDACTIV G CAP
Composition
INDACTIV G CAP contains a combination of three active ingredients:
- Glycopyrronium Bromide (50mcg)
- Indacaterol (150mcg)
- Mometasone Furoate (160mcg)
Uses
INDACTIV G CAP is prescribed as a maintenance treatment for asthma in adults. It is specifically indicated for those whose asthma is not adequately controlled with a maintenance combination of a long-acting beta2-agonist and a high dose of an inhaled corticosteroid, and who have experienced one or more asthma flare-ups in the previous year. This medication works by relaxing the muscles of the small airways in the lungs and reducing inflammation, thereby easing breathing problems, improving lung function, and helping to prevent asthma attacks. It is not intended for the relief of sudden breathing problems or acute asthma attacks.
Dosage and Administration
This medicine is for inhalation only and should not be swallowed. The usual dosage is the content of one capsule once daily. To use, remove one capsule and place it into the inhaler device, then pierce the capsule. Inhale deeply and slowly through the mouthpiece, hold your breath for 2-3 seconds, and then exhale slowly. It is crucial to rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each use to prevent fungal infections. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include:
- Runny nose, sore throat, headache, fast heartbeat.
- Oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth).
- Stomach pain, vomiting, rashes.
- Exacerbation of asthma, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infection.
Serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention include sudden difficulty breathing or chest tightness (signs of airways tightening), eye pain, visual disturbances, or severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
- Not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
- Caution is advised for patients with severe liver or kidney problems, and heart conditions due to potential effects on heart rate and rhythm.
- Consult a doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not stop the medication abruptly as it may worsen symptoms.
- Monitor blood glucose levels, especially if diabetic.
- Avoid smoking, as it irritates the lungs and can worsen the condition.
- The first dose should be taken under medical supervision due to the risk of bronchospasm.
- Inform your doctor about any known allergies to the active ingredients or other medications.
Storage
Store INDACTIV G CAP in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep it out of the sight and reach of children. It should be stored at temperatures between 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What is Indactiv G Cap used for?
Indactiv G Cap is used as a maintenance treatment for uncontrolled asthma in adult patients. It helps improve lung function, reduce exacerbations, and control symptoms such as wheezing and coughing. It is not intended for the relief of sudden or acute asthma attacks.
How does Indactiv G Cap work?
Indactiv G Cap is a combination of three active ingredients: Glycopyrronium, Indacaterol, and Mometasone Furoate.

- Indacaterol ( a long-acting beta-agonist) helps by relaxing and opening the air passages in the lungs.

Is Indactiv G Cap safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
