TRITAM PLUS TAB

TRITAM PLUS TAB, also known as Tritam Plus 500mg/800mg Tablet, is a medication manufactured by TRIPADA HEALTHCARE PVT LTD.

  • Composition Each tablet contains a combination of Citicoline (500 mg) and Piracetam (800 mg). Citicoline works by nourishing and protecting nerve cells, improving their survival, and repairing damaged neuronal membranes by boosting phosphatidylcholine production. Piracetam, a GABA analogue, protects the brain and nervous system from oxygen deprivation, enhances the activity of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger), and improves brain metabolism by increasing oxygen and glucose utilization.

  • Uses TRITAM PLUS TAB is primarily used in the treatment and rehabilitation of acute stroke. It is also indicated for cognitive enhancement, brain trauma, cerebral insufficiency resulting from head trauma or brain injury, and aiding in the recovery from cerebral infarction or ischemic stroke. It helps in decreasing brain damage, promoting healing, and enhancing overall brain health and function.

  • Dosage and Administration This medicine should be taken as prescribed by your healthcare provider, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level in the body. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing, breaking, or chewing it. Do not abruptly stop the medication without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen symptoms. The dose and duration of treatment are determined by your doctor based on your health condition.

  • Side Effects Common side effects may include headache, sleeplessness, weight gain, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, nervousness, weakness, hyperactivity, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, muscle spasms, and decreased blood pressure. Serious side effects, though rare, can include difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, eyelids, tongue, hands, and feet, blurred vision, and irregular heartbeat.

  • Precautions Do not take TRITAM PLUS TAB if you are allergic to any of its components. Exercise caution if you have kidney or liver problems, bleeding disorders (such as severe hemorrhage, gastrointestinal ulcers), or a history of intracranial hemorrhage. It is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. The medicine may cause drowsiness, sleepiness, and shakiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Alcohol consumption should be avoided as it may intensify sedative effects. Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, especially anticoagulants, antiplatelets, CNS depressants, or cholinergic medicines, as interactions may occur.

  • Storage Store TRITAM PLUS TAB at room temperature, ideally below 30°C, and keep it in its original container, tightly closed. Protect it from direct light, heat, and moisture, and ensure it is out of reach of children. Always check the expiry date before use.
