AQUASURGE EYE DROP 0.5% (10 ML)

AQUASURGE EYE DROP 0.5% is an ophthalmic lubricant manufactured by IPCA LABORATORIES LTD, designed to provide relief from dry and irritated eyes.

  • Composition

    • Active Ingredient: Carboxymethylcellulose (also known as Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose or Carmellose) 0.5% w/v.
  • Uses AQUASURGE EYE DROP 0.5% is primarily used for the management of dry eyes, which can result from insufficient tear production or rapid tear evaporation. It helps alleviate associated symptoms such as burning, stinging, irritation, discomfort, itching, and the sensation of a foreign body in the eye. It is also indicated for managing eye dryness following laser or cataract eye surgery and for protecting the eyes from further irritation. Additionally, it can be used to lubricate and re-wet soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

  • Dosage and Administration This medicine is for external ophthalmic use only.

    • Wash hands thoroughly before and after use.
    • Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and gently squeeze 1-2 drops into the eye.
    • Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface to prevent contamination.
    • Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes after application to allow the drops to spread evenly.
    • Use as needed or as directed by your doctor.
    • If you wear contact lenses, remove them before instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Side Effects

    • Common Side Effects: Mild stinging or burning sensation in the eye, irritation (including itching), temporary blurred vision after application, eye pain, redness, and eye discharge. These effects are usually temporary and resolve over time.
    • Serious Side Effects (Rare): Severe allergic reactions, severe eye pain, impaired vision, or worsening redness or irritation of the eye. If any of these occur, discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention.
  • Precautions

    • Do not use if you are allergic to Carboxymethylcellulose or any other ingredients in the eye drops.
    • To avoid contamination, do not touch the tip of the dropper to your eye, eyelid, or any other surface.
    • Do not use the solution if it changes color or appears cloudy.
    • After application, if you experience temporary blurred vision, avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision is clear.
    • Consult your doctor if eye irritation persists, worsens, or if you develop an eye infection.
    • For pregnant or breastfeeding women, consult a doctor before use, although it is generally considered safe for external application.
    • No known significant drug-drug or drug-food interactions have been found.
  • Storage Store AQUASURGE EYE DROP at or below 25°C in a cool and dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Discard the bottle within 30 days of opening or after the expiry date, whichever comes first.

AQUASURGE EYE DROP 0.5% is primarily used as an ophthalmic lubricant, often referred to as artificial tears, to relieve symptoms of dry eyes.
