Frequently asked questions
TROHEAL D TAB is a combination medication containing Trypsin, Bromelain, Rutoside, and Diclofenac, primarily used to relieve pain and inflammation. It is manufactured by ISAKURA HEALTHCARE DIV..
What is TROHEAL D TAB used for?
TROHEAL D TAB is primarily used to treat pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis (joint pain, particularly in the knees, hip, hands, neck, and lower back) and rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain, especially in the hands and feet). It may also provide relief from toothache, ear pain, throat pain, muscle ache, and backache. Additionally, it's prescribed for pain relief due to trauma, surgery, or everyday activity, and can assist in post-surgical recovery and wound healing.
How does TROHEAL D TAB work?
TROHEAL D TAB combines four active ingredients: Trypsin, Bromelain, Rutoside, and Diclofenac. Trypsin and Bromelain are enzymes that reduce pain and inflammation by increasing blood supply to the affected area and promoting healing. Rutoside is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent that prevents swelling and inflammation by neutralizing chemicals that cause cell damage. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the release of chemical substances (prostaglandins) responsible for pain and inflammation.
What is the usual dosage of TROHEAL D TAB?
TROHEAL D TAB should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is generally recommended to take it with food to prevent an upset stomach. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and not broken, chewed, or crushed. Do not take more than the recommended dose or use it for a longer duration than advised by your doctor.
What are the possible side effects of TROHEAL D TAB?
Common side effects of TROHEAL D TAB include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn, stomach upset, diarrhea, and headache. Some patients may also experience dizziness or blurred vision. These side effects are usually mild and temporary, but if they persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor immediately. It may also change the color, consistency, and odor of your stool, which is not harmful but should be discussed with your doctor if it becomes a concern.
Is TROHEAL D TAB safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
TROHEAL D TAB is generally not recommended during pregnancy, as there is evidence of risk to the developing baby, and Bromelain, one of its components, may cause miscarriage. For breastfeeding mothers, information regarding its use is limited or not available, so it is advised to consult a doctor, who will prescribe it only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Can it be taken with other medications?
It's crucial to inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking to rule out any potential interactions. TROHEAL D TAB interacts with medications for conditions like asthma, kidney disease, heart disease, and liver disease. Diclofenac, one of the active ingredients, has critical interactions with Meloxicam and severe interactions with Methotrexate.
What precautions should be taken?
Do not take TROHEAL D TAB if you are allergic to any of its contents or to painkillers (NSAIDs). Inform your doctor if you have or have had high blood pressure, heart problems, high cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, angina, bowel problems, blood clotting disorders, a habit of smoking, or liver and kidney problems. Use with caution in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or active stomach bleeding. TROHEAL D TAB may cause dizziness and blurred vision, so do not drive or operate heavy machinery unless you are alert. Alcohol consumption should be avoided as it may increase the risk of gastric irritation and excessive drowsiness. Stop taking the tablet and consult your doctor immediately if you experience stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools.
What happens if a dose is missed?
If you miss a dose of TROHEAL D TAB, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.
How should it be stored?
TROHEAL D TAB should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep it in its original container, tightly closed, and out of reach and sight of children and pets. The recommended storage temperature is between 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.
