- Neuropathic pain (pain due to nerve damage from conditions like diabetes, shingles, or spinal cord injury).
- Muscle and joint pain.
- Arthritis pain.
- Musculoskeletal disorders, strains, and sprains. It works by modifying nerve signals for pain relief, blocking pain-causing substances, and providing temporary topical relief.

Dosage and Administration: Apply a pea-sized amount of Dubinor Ointment to the affected area using your fingers. Clean and dry the affected skin thoroughly before application. Gently massage the ointment onto the area. It is for external use only, and the duration of use should be as prescribed by a physician, typically once or twice a day. Wash hands after application unless the hands are the treatment area. Avoid covering the treated area with occlusive bandages.

More serious side effects, though rare, could include persistent burning/irritation, dizziness, excessive sleepiness, swelling in the limbs (peripheral edema), impaired coordination, or signs of systemic absorption. Consult a doctor if any side effects persist or worsen.

Frequently asked questions
Here are some frequently asked questions about DUBINOR OINTMENT 30 GM:
What is Dubinor Ointment used for?
Dubinor Ointment is primarily used to relieve various types of pain, including neuropathic pain (pain caused by nerve damage, such as from diabetes, shingles, or spinal cord injury), arthritis pain, and general joint and muscle pain, including back, knee, and neck pain. It also helps to reduce inflammation.
How does Dubinor Ointment work?
Dubinor Ointment contains a combination of active ingredients: Gabapentin, Diclofenac diethylamine, and Methyl salicylate.
- Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic agent that helps relieve pain by altering the way nerves send messages to the brain.
- Diclofenac diethylamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical substances, like prostaglandins, which cause pain and swelling.
- Methyl salicylate is a topical rubefacient (also an NSAID) that provides temporary relief from muscle or joint pain caused by strains and sprains, and works by initially cooling and then warming the skin, contributing to the calming effect on nerves.
What is the usual dosage and how should it be applied?
Generally, Dubinor Ointment is applied once or twice a day, or as directed by your doctor. A small, pea-sized amount should be applied as a thin layer to the affected area with clean hands. It is for external use only. Ensure the area is clean and dry before application, and wash your hands thoroughly after applying, unless your hands are the treated area. Avoid applying it in large amounts or for longer than recommended.
What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects at the application site may include itching, irritation, redness, and a burning sensation. Other less common side effects reported can include dizziness, sleepiness, peripheral edema (swelling in limbs), impaired coordination, fatigue, nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), viral infections, fever, nausea, vomiting, and feelings of hostility. If any side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Dubinor Ointment should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using it, and the doctor will assess if the benefits outweigh the risks. If used while breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid applying it to the breast area to prevent accidental ingestion by the baby.
Can it be taken with other medications?
Since Dubinor Ointment is for external use, it is less likely to interact significantly with oral medications. However, it is important to inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking. Avoid using other oral painkillers, especially other NSAIDs, for pain relief along with Dubinor Ointment unless prescribed by a doctor. Also, avoid applying other topical medications containing NSAIDs or other products on the same skin area without consulting your doctor.
What precautions should be taken?
- Dubinor Ointment is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, cuts, or compromised skin.
- Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight, as it may cause a burning sensation.
- It is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established.
- Inform your doctor if you have any active skin diseases or known allergies to any of its components.
- Consult your doctor if you have concerns regarding liver or kidney impairment.
What happens if a dose is missed?
If you miss an application of Dubinor Ointment, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed application and continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.
How should it be stored?
Dubinor Ointment should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. The temperature should not exceed 25°C. Keep it out of sight and reach of children. Do not use the medicine after its expiry date.
