VELTAM F TABLET is a combination medicine manufactured by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd.. It is also known by its brand name, Veltam-F Tablet MR.

Composition Each tablet contains Tamsulosin (0.4mg) and Finasteride (5mg). Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker, while Finasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor.

Uses VELTAM F TABLET is primarily used to manage and treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition characterized by an enlarged prostate gland in men. It helps alleviate bothersome urinary symptoms associated with BPH, such as difficulty starting urination, frequent urination, a weak stream, urinary urgency, and the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. Tamsulosin works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow, while Finasteride reduces the size of the prostate by decreasing the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate enlargement.

Dosage and Administration The typical dosage is one tablet once daily, usually taken approximately half an hour following the same meal each day. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and not crushed, chewed, or broken. Consistency in administration time is recommended for optimal effectiveness. It may take several weeks to months to observe the full benefits of the medication.
