Frequently asked questions

ARUMIN TAB by EMPIAI PHARMACEUTICALS LTD is a combination medication containing Diclofenac (50 mg) and Paracetamol (500 mg), primarily used for pain relief and to reduce inflammation.

What is ARUMIN TAB used for?

ARUMIN TAB is used for the short-term relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with various conditions. These include painful musculoskeletal joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also effectively relieves muscle pain, back pain, toothache, ear pain, throat pain, headaches, migraines, and menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea).

How does ARUMIN TAB work?

ARUMIN TAB contains two active ingredients: Diclofenac and Paracetamol. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the action of chemical messengers called cyclo-oxygenase (COX), which are responsible for causing pain and swelling at injured or damaged tissue sites. Paracetamol acts as a mild analgesic (pain reducer) and antipyretic (fever reducer), enhancing Diclofenac's pain-relief action and altering how the body senses pain.

What is the usual dosage of ARUMIN TAB?

The dosage of ARUMIN TAB will be determined by your doctor based on your medical condition and response to treatment. You should always follow your doctor's instructions regarding the dose and duration. It can be taken with or after a meal to help prevent stomach upset. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

What are the possible side effects of ARUMIN TAB?

Common side effects of ARUMIN TAB include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain/epigastric pain, heartburn, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Other potential side effects include dizziness, light-headedness, malaise, liver dysfunction (hepatitis), pruritis (itchy skin), and rash. Most of these side effects are temporary and usually resolve. If side effects persist or worsen, you should consult your doctor.

Is ARUMIN TAB safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

ARUMIN TAB is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the last three months, as it may pose risks to the unborn baby, including heart defects, delayed delivery, or increased risk of bleeding. It is also advised to inform your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy. While small amounts of the medication may pass into breast milk, its use during breastfeeding should be done with caution, and a doctor's consultation is recommended.

Can ARUMIN TAB be taken with other medications?

ARUMIN TAB can interact with certain medications. For example, co-administration with anticoagulants like warfarin can increase the risk of bleeding. Taking it with other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen) can elevate the risk of adverse effects like stomach bleeding. It may also interact with certain antidiabetic medicines, affecting blood glucose control. Always inform your doctor about all current medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.

What precautions should be taken while using ARUMIN TAB?

Before taking ARUMIN TAB, inform your doctor about your medical history, allergies, and ongoing medications. It should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease, and dose adjustments may be needed. It is not recommended for individuals with severe liver disease, severe kidney problems, a history of stomach ulcers, active recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding, heart failure, high blood pressure, or asthma. Alcohol consumption should be avoided as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding and liver damage, and can also increase dizziness and drowsiness. ARUMIN TAB may cause headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.

What happens if a dose of ARUMIN TAB is missed?

If you miss a dose of ARUMIN TAB, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

How should ARUMIN TAB be stored?

ARUMIN TAB should be stored in a cool and dry place, below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in its original container, tightly closed, and out of the sight and reach of children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion.
