    • Serious Side Effects (Rare): Severe allergic reactions (such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat leading to difficulty in breathing or swallowing), restlessness, hallucination, and problems sleeping.
    • Prolonged use beyond the recommended duration can lead to rebound congestion, where nasal passages become more congested.

Frequently asked questions

What is CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY used for?

CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY is used in children aged 1 to 11 years to relieve nasal congestion (blocked nose) caused by the common cold, sinusitis, or allergic rhinitis.

How does CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY work?

This medicine contains Xylometazoline, a nasal decongestant. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages, which helps to reduce swelling and allows air to pass through the nostrils more freely. This action provides temporary relief from congestion and stuffiness.

What is the usual dosage of CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY?

CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY should be used as directed by a physician. It is intended for intranasal use only. For nasal drops, gently instill a few drops into each nostril and clean the dropper after application. For nasal spray, insert the nozzle into the affected nostril, press the pump to release the spray while sniffing, and repeat for the other nostril if needed. Clean the nozzle after use. It is important not to use it for more than 10 days without consulting a doctor.

What are the possible side effects of CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY?

Common side effects may include irritation or burning sensation after application, nasal dryness, nose discomfort, headache, and nausea. Rarely, nosebleeds might occur. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions, restlessness, hallucinations, or problems sleeping may occur, requiring immediate medical attention.

Is CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY is intended for use only in children aged 1-11 years and should not be used by adults unless recommended by a doctor. Generally, xylometazoline nasal sprays (the active ingredient) are preferred decongestants for pregnant and breastfeeding women for temporary relief, as they act locally and are not well-absorbed systemically. However, usage should be limited to avoid rebound congestion. For any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it's essential to consult a healthcare provider.

Can CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY be taken with other medications?

Inform your doctor if your child is taking antidepressants (such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants), lithium, fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram, or medicines used to control blood pressure (like alpha-blockers or beta-blockers), or timolol/betaxolol for glaucoma. These medications may interact with CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY.

What precautions should be taken when using CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY?

Do not use this medicine for more than 10 days without consulting a doctor, as prolonged use can worsen nasal congestion (rebound congestion). To prevent the spread of infection, each pack should be used by only one person. Inform your doctor if your child has heart problems or thyroid problems. This medicine is not recommended if your child has inflammation in the nasal passages, recently had neurosurgery, or surgery in the nose. It should not be used in infants below 1 year.

What happens if a dose of CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY is missed?

If you forget to use a dose, do not worry and continue using it as soon as you remember. If you are unsure, consult your doctor.

How should CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY be stored?

Keep CLENO PEDIA NASAL SPRAY out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature. Any unused portion should be discarded after 28 days of opening.
