Description

LULIBET XL CREAM 50 GM

Name: LULIBET XL CREAM (brand name), Luliconazole (common name for active ingredient).

Composition: LULIBET XL CREAM contains Luliconazole 1% w/w as its active ingredient.

Uses: LULIBET XL CREAM is an antifungal medication primarily used to treat various fungal skin infections in adults. These conditions include athlete's foot (tinea pedis), Dhobie Itch (tinea cruris or jock itch), ringworm (tinea corporis), and thrush (cutaneous candidiasis), as well as dry, flaky skin associated with fungal overgrowth. It works by disrupting fungal cell membranes, leading to the destruction of the fungi and relief from symptoms like itching, redness, inflammation, and irritation.

Dosage and Administration: LULIBET XL CREAM is for external application only.

  • Ensure the affected skin area is thoroughly cleansed and dried before application.
  • Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin once daily and gently rub it in until fully absorbed.
  • For athlete's foot between the toes, apply a thin layer to the affected areas and extend to cover at least 1 inch of surrounding skin, typically once a day for 2 weeks.
  • For jock itch or ringworm, apply to affected areas and spread to cover at least 1 inch of surrounding skin, typically once a day for 1 week.
  • Always wash hands thoroughly before and after applying the cream, unless the hands are the area being treated.
  • Do not apply more frequently or in larger quantities than prescribed, as this will not accelerate healing and may increase side effects.
  • Typically, noticeable improvement occurs within 2 to 4 weeks of consistent use. If the condition does not improve within this timeframe, consult a doctor.
  • Not recommended for children below 12 years for athlete's foot or jock itch, but may be used in children above 2 years for ringworm if prescribed by a doctor.

Side Effects: While generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience mild side effects at the application site.

  • Common Side Effects: Burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, skin dryness, skin peeling, or blisters. These effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own.
  • Serious Side Effects: Seek immediate medical attention if signs of an allergic reaction develop, such as a rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or nausea.

Precautions:

  • Avoid direct contact of the cream with eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. If accidental contact occurs, rinse the affected area immediately and thoroughly with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.
  • Inform your doctor if you have any known allergies to Luliconazole or any other ingredients in LULIBET XL CREAM.
  • Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Limited safety information is available for pregnancy, and it should not be applied to the breast or nipple area while breastfeeding.
  • Avoid using on broken or infected skin.
  • LULIBET XL CREAM used in a larger amount for a prolonged period may interact with the action of omeprazole (used in acidity). Consult your doctor if you are on any other medicines.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene, keep affected areas clean and dry, and for athlete's foot, change socks/tights daily and choose breathable footwear to prevent re-infection.

Storage:

  • Keep LULIBET XL CREAM in its original container, tightly closed, and out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Store at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), away from light, excess heat, and moisture (not in the bathroom).
  • Once opened, it should be used within one month.
Frequently asked questions

Here are frequently asked questions about LULIBET XL CREAM 50 GM:

What is LULIBET XL CREAM used for?

LULIBET XL CREAM is an antifungal medicine primarily used to treat various fungal skin infections. These include conditions such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis), and jock itch (tinea cruris). It helps to relieve associated symptoms like itching, redness, irritation, and scaling by eliminating the fungi causing the infection.

How does LULIBET XL CREAM work?

The active ingredient in LULIBET XL CREAM is Luliconazole. It works by targeting and disrupting the fungal cell membranes, which are crucial for the fungi's survival. By creating holes in these membranes, Luliconazole prevents unwanted substances from entering the fungal cells and stops the leakage of cell contents, ultimately killing the fungi and clearing the infection.

What is the usual dosage for LULIBET XL CREAM?

LULIBET XL CREAM is for external application only. Typically, a thin layer of the cream is applied to the affected skin area once a day. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type of infection: for athlete's foot, it's usually for 2 weeks, and for jock itch or ringworm, it's generally for 1 week. Always follow your doctor's prescribed dosage and duration for optimal results.

What are the possible side effects of LULIBET XL CREAM?

Most individuals tolerate LULIBET XL CREAM well, but some may experience mild side effects at the application site. These commonly include a burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, or dry skin. These effects are usually temporary and tend to resolve on their own. In rare cases, severe reactions like a rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing can occur, which require immediate medical attention.

Is LULIBET XL CREAM safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

LULIBET XL CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy as there is limited data to support its safety, and animal studies have shown potential harmful effects on the developing baby. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor to weigh the potential benefits against the risks. Similarly, for breastfeeding mothers, it is advisable to consult a doctor, as it is unknown whether the medication is excreted in human milk and could harm the baby.

Can LULIBET XL CREAM be taken with other medications?

Since LULIBET XL CREAM is applied externally to the skin, it is less likely to interact with oral or injectable medications. However, it is important to inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking, including any other topical steroids or antifungal medications, to avoid potential interactions or complications.

What precautions should be taken while using LULIBET XL CREAM?

LULIBET XL CREAM is strictly for external use. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, or vaginal region. If accidental contact occurs, rinse the affected area thoroughly with plenty of water. Do not apply the cream on broken or open wounds. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after each application, unless your hands are the area being treated. If your condition does not improve or worsens after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor for further evaluation.

What happens if a dose of LULIBET XL CREAM is missed?

If you forget to apply a dose of LULIBET XL CREAM, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular application schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.

How should LULIBET XL CREAM be stored?

LULIBET XL CREAM should be stored in its original container, tightly closed, in a cool, dry place. Maintain a room temperature between 20°C to 25°C. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Always keep this medication out of the reach of children.
