Frequently asked questions

TROHEAL DS TAB: Frequently Asked Questions

As a medical assistant, here are some frequently asked questions and concise answers regarding TROHEAL DS TAB. This information is for general knowledge and should not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medication.

What is TROHEAL DS TAB used for?

TROHEAL DS TAB is primarily used to relieve pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with various conditions. These include musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, sprains, injuries, bone fractures, and post-operative pain and swelling. It can also aid in wound healing and the management of edema (fluid retention). Some sources also mention its use for general pain relief in conditions like fever, headache, menstrual cramps, and toothache.

How does TROHEAL DS TAB work?

TROHEAL DS TAB is a combination medicine containing one antioxidant, Rutoside, and two enzymes, Trypsin and Bromelain. Rutoside acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals (toxins) and reducing swelling. Trypsin helps remove dead skin cells, promoting the growth of healthy tissue. Bromelain, an enzyme derived from pineapple, limits the formation of fibrin, which can cause clots or plaque at injured sites. Together, these ingredients work to increase blood supply to the affected area and produce substances in the body that fight pain and swelling.

What is the usual dosage for TROHEAL DS TAB?

The specific dosage and duration of TROHEAL DS TAB should always be determined and advised by your doctor. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions precisely for the best results and to ensure safe use.

What are the possible side effects of TROHEAL DS TAB?

Common side effects may include vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, rash, or mouth sores. Some individuals might experience restlessness, nervousness, pounding in the ears, blurred vision, dizziness, headache, itching, limb swelling, ankle swelling, skin redness, stomach upset, irregular heart rate (tachycardia), heaviness, or weakness. Bromelain and Trypsin generally show no common side effects. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, contact your doctor immediately.

Is TROHEAL DS TAB safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

TROHEAL DS TAB is generally not recommended for pregnant women. This is because Bromelain, one of its components, may potentially cause abortion or miscarriage. Information regarding its use during pregnancy and lactation is limited or unavailable, so it is crucial to consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding before taking this medication.

Can TROHEAL DS TAB be taken with other medications?

It is essential to inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs, herbal supplements, and vitamins. Bromelain, a component of TROHEAL DS TAB, can interfere with blood clotting, so it's particularly important to discuss its use with your doctor if you are taking blood thinners (anticoagulants). Interactions with alcohol are unknown; consult your doctor.

What precautions should be taken while using TROHEAL DS TAB?

Do not take TROHEAL DS TAB if you are allergic to any of its components, or to pineapple, carrot, papaya, fennel, or pollens. The medication is not recommended for patients with hemophilia, liver disorders, kidney disorders, or those undergoing hemodialysis. Exercise caution if you have bleeding disorders or heart conditions. If you are scheduled for surgery, you should stop taking Bromelain-containing medications like TROHEAL DS TAB at least two weeks prior, as it may interfere with blood clotting. Always swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break it.

What happens if a dose of TROHEAL DS TAB is missed?

If you miss a dose of TROHEAL DS TAB, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns about missed doses.

How should TROHEAL DS TAB be stored?

Store TROHEAL DS TAB in its original container, tightly closed, and follow the storage instructions provided on the label. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets, and dispose of any unused medication safely.
