HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION is a topical medication designed to manage hair loss and stimulate hair regrowth.

  • Name:
    • Brand Name: HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION
    • Common Name: Minoxidil Topical Solution
  • Composition:
    • Active Ingredient: Minoxidil 2% w/v
    • Other Ingredients: May also contain Aminexil and Alcohol (as per some formulations).
  • Uses: HAIR 4U 2% Solution is primarily prescribed for the treatment of:
    • Hereditary hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in both men and women.
    • Male pattern baldness and female pattern hair loss. It works by revitalizing hair follicles and increasing blood circulation to the scalp, promoting hair density and thickness. It is most effective for mild to moderate hair loss, particularly at the top of the scalp.
  • Dosage and Administration:
    • For external use on the scalp only.
    • Apply 1 mL (typically 7 sprays) twice daily to the dry scalp, beginning at the center of the affected area.
    • Spread the solution with fingertips to cover the bald area.
    • The total daily dose should not exceed 2 mL.
    • Do not shampoo hair for at least 4 hours after application and allow 2 to 4 hours for it to dry completely before going to bed.
    • Wash hands thoroughly after each application.
  • Side Effects:
    • Common: Scalp itching, redness, dryness, scaling, flaking, burning sensation, headache, and initial temporary hair shedding.
    • Serious (Seek medical attention if experienced): Sudden weight gain, swelling of the face, hands, ankles, or stomach, difficulty breathing (especially when lying down), rapid heartbeat, chest pain, and lightheadedness.
  • Precautions:
    • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and other body areas; flush with cool water if accidental contact occurs.
    • Do not apply to an inflamed, infected, irritated, sunburned, or abraded scalp.
    • Do not exceed the recommended dosage, as this will not enhance hair growth and may increase side effects.
    • Hair growth may take 2 to 4 months to become noticeable, and initial hair shedding can occur.
    • Inform your doctor if you have heart problems or are using other topical scalp treatments.
    • Not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age.
    • Avoid inhaling the spray mist.
    • Contains alcohol, which may cause burning or irritation.
    • This product is toxic to pets.
  • Storage:
    • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
    • Do not store above 30°C.
    • Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently asked questions

HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION contains Minoxidil 2% as its active ingredient, a medication primarily used for the treatment of hair loss.

What is HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION used for?

HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION is used to treat common hereditary hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, in both men and women. It works to prevent further hair loss and helps stimulate new hair regrowth, particularly for thinning or baldness at the top of the scalp.

How does it work?

The active ingredient, Minoxidil, is a vasodilator. When applied to the scalp, it works by widening blood vessels, which increases blood flow to the hair follicles. This enhanced blood supply provides more oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles, preventing hair cell death and stimulating new hair growth. It also encourages hair follicles to enter the active growth (anagen) phase.

What is the usual dosage?

The typical dosage is 1 milliliter (mL) of the solution, which is about 7 sprays, applied directly to the scalp in the area of hair loss twice a day. Using more than the recommended amount or applying it more frequently will not speed up results and may increase the risk of side effects.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include itching, redness, dryness, or other skin irritations of the treated scalp area. Some individuals may experience increased hair shedding during the first two weeks of treatment, which is typically temporary. Unwanted hair growth (hypertrichosis) on other parts of the body, such as the face, can occur if the solution spreads from the scalp. In rare cases, if significant amounts are absorbed into the body, more serious systemic side effects like chest pain, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, lightheadedness, or swelling of the hands and feet might occur.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION (Minoxidil) is generally not recommended during pregnancy as it may be linked to issues with fetal development. For breastfeeding mothers, it should be used with caution and might be best avoided, especially when nursing preterm or neonatal infants, due to potential systemic absorption and a lack of extensive safety data.

Can it be taken with other medications?

While topical Minoxidil has minimal systemic absorption, certain medications may interact. For example, if you have heart disease and are taking other medications, or if you use other topical treatments on your scalp, it's important to consult your doctor. Hair coloring, permanents, and relaxers can typically be used during Minoxidil therapy, but ensure the scalp is washed before applying these chemicals and avoid using Minoxidil 24 hours before and after the hair treatment procedure to prevent irritation.

What precautions should be taken?

HAIR 4U (NEW) 2% SPRAY/SOLUTION is for external use on the scalp only. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or broken/irritated skin; rinse thoroughly with cool tap water if accidental contact occurs. Wash your hands immediately after application. Do not use a hairdryer to dry the scalp after application, as it may reduce effectiveness. Allow 2-4 hours for the solution to dry completely before going to bed to prevent staining and transfer to other body parts. This product is not recommended for individuals under 18 or over 65, or if your hair loss is sudden, patchy, or due to other medical conditions or medications. Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or any other scalp conditions.

What happens if a dose is missed?

If you miss one or two daily doses, simply continue with your next scheduled dose. Do not try to make up for missed doses by applying more or using it more often.

How should it be stored?

Store the medicine in a closed container at controlled room temperature, typically between 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F), away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep it tightly closed and out of the reach of children. The product is flammable, so keep it away from fire or flame.

How long does it take to see results?

Consistent use twice a day is necessary, and it typically takes about 2 to 4 months before you may notice any hair growth. The initial new hair may be soft, colorless, and barely visible. Continuous application is essential to maintain hair regrowth; if you stop using it, hair loss will likely resume within three to four months.
