NOXA CREAM 10GM by INDOCO REMEDIES LTD.

Name

  • Brand Name: NOXA CREAM 10GM
  • Common Name: Ozenoxacin Cream

Composition

  • Active Ingredient: Ozenoxacin 1% w/w

Uses

NOXA CREAM is an antimicrobial medicine primarily prescribed for the topical treatment of impetigo. Impetigo is a highly contagious bacterial skin infection characterized by red sores, often caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis necessary for bacterial cell growth, thereby killing the bacteria and treating bacterial infections. It can also be used for other bacterial skin infections caused by these susceptible bacteria.

Dosage and Administration

  • For external use only.
  • Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before application.
  • Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin area, typically twice daily for five days, or as directed by a physician.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after applying the cream, unless the hands are the area being treated.
  • The treated area may be covered with a sterile bandage or gauze dressing if advised by the doctor.
  • Consult a doctor if there is no improvement in the condition after 5 days of use.
  • Suitable for adults and children aged 2 months and older. For infants, use only if recommended by a pediatrician.

Side Effects

Common side effects are usually mild and temporary, resolving over time. If any side effects persist or worsen, medical advice should be sought.

  • Common: Itching, burning sensation, irritation, and redness at the application site.
  • Less Common: Erythema (redness and pus-filled bumps), dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin), seborrheic dermatitis.

Precautions

  • Avoid using NOXA CREAM if you are allergic to Ozenoxacin or any other quinolone antibiotics.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. In case of accidental contact, thoroughly rinse the affected area with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply on open wounds, blisters, or lesions.
  • Inform your doctor about any existing liver, kidney, or other skin conditions before starting treatment.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. NOXA CREAM is generally considered safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding when prescribed.
  • Prolonged use of NOXA CREAM may lead to the overgrowth of other bacteria and fungi.
  • Inform your doctor about all your medication history, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements.

Storage

  • Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children and pets.
  • Maintain storage temperature below 25°C or between 15°C and 30°C, or below 30°C.
  • Do not freeze.

Frequently asked questions

Here are the most frequently asked questions about NOXA CREAM 10GM by INDOCO REMEDIES LTD.

What is Noxa Cream used for?

Noxa Cream is primarily used for the topical treatment of impetigo, a common and highly contagious bacterial skin infection characterized by red sores that can ooze fluid and form yellow-brown crusts. It helps to reduce the infection and prevent its spread.

How does Noxa Cream work?

Noxa Cream contains Ozenoxacin, which is a quinolone antibiotic. It works by entering bacterial cells and inhibiting key bacterial enzymes, such as DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication, repair, and growth, so by blocking them, Noxa Cream effectively kills the bacteria causing the infection.

What is the usual dosage for Noxa Cream?

Noxa Cream is for external use only. It is typically applied as a thin layer to the clean, dry affected area of the skin twice daily for five days, or as directed by your doctor. After application, it is important to wash your hands thoroughly, unless your hands are the treated area.

What are the possible side effects of Noxa Cream?

Common side effects at the application site may include itching, burning sensation, irritation, redness (erythema), and dryness of the skin. Some individuals might also experience dermatitis. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. If they persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Is Noxa Cream safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Noxa Cream is generally considered safe for use during pregnancy if prescribed by a doctor, especially since animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects on the developing baby. For breastfeeding mothers, it is probably safe, but it's recommended that infants do not come into contact with any treated skin, including the breasts. Always consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can Noxa Cream be taken with other medications?

Since Noxa Cream is a topical medication with low systemic absorption, it is less likely to interact with oral medications. However, there might be a chance of interaction with other topical medications if used simultaneously on the same area. It is important to inform your doctor about all your current medications, including prescription, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal supplements, before starting treatment with Noxa Cream.

What precautions should be taken while using Noxa Cream?

Avoid applying Noxa Cream on open wounds, blisters, or lesions. It should not come into contact with your eyes, mouth, or inside of the nose; if accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney disorders, or existing skin conditions. While suitable for adults and children, its use in infants should only be recommended by a pediatrician. Do not stop applying the cream prematurely, even if the infection appears to have cleared, as this can lead to recurrence.

What happens if a dose of Noxa Cream is missed?

If you miss a dose of Noxa Cream, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply extra cream to make up for a missed dose.

How should Noxa Cream be stored?

Noxa Cream should be stored in a cool and dry place, with temperatures typically below 25°C or 30°C. Protect it from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat. Keep the cream out of the sight and reach of children and pets.
