MYMAZOLE CAP
Name: Mymazole Vaginal Capsule (Brand: MYMAZOLE CAP by UMANO HEALTHCARE (P) LIMITED)
Composition: Each capsule contains Clindamycin (100mg), Clotrimazole (100mg), and Tinidazole (100mg).
Uses: Mymazole Vaginal Capsule is a combination medicine used for the syndromic treatment of vaginal discharge and various vaginal infections. It effectively treats bacterial vaginosis, mixed vaginal infections caused by bacteria or fungi, fungal vaginal infections (such as candidiasis/yeast infections), and parasitic infections (like trichomoniasis). It also helps alleviate symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge, change in color, foul smell, itching, irritation, and inflammation in the vagina.
Dosage and Administration: This medicine is for vaginal application only. It should be used as advised by your doctor, typically inserted into the vagina using an applicator (if provided) or manually, usually at night before going to bed. Wash hands before and after use. Ensure the capsule is inserted as high as possible. It is crucial to complete the full course of treatment, even if symptoms improve, and not to exceed the recommended dose.
Side Effects:
- Common: Frequent urge to urinate, mild irritation, burning sensation, stinging, vaginal pain, vulvovaginal disorders, fungal infection, constipation, nausea, headache, back pain.
- Serious (Less Common): Dark urine or metallic taste (due to Tinidazole), allergic reactions such as rashes, itching, swelling, or shortness of breath. Inform your doctor if common side effects persist or worsen, or if any allergic reactions occur.
Precautions:
- Do not use if allergic to clindamycin, clotrimazole, tinidazole, or any other components.
- Inform your doctor if you have certain bowel diseases (like colitis), blood disorders, nervous system problems, liver, kidney, or gastrointestinal diseases, allergic conditions (asthma, hay fever, eczema), diabetes, or immune system problems (e.g., HIV/AIDS).
- Mymazole Vaginal Capsule may weaken latex condoms, diaphragms, or cervical caps, reducing their effectiveness; alternative contraception methods should be used during treatment. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment as it can reduce effectiveness and increase irritation.
- Avoid contact with eyes; rinse immediately with plenty of water if accidental exposure occurs.
- Avoid alcohol consumption during Tinidazole treatment to prevent potential adverse reactions.
- Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult your doctor.
- Not recommended for children below 12 years of age.
Storage: Store below 30°C, in a cool and dry place away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently asked questions
MYMAZOLE CAP by UMANO HEALTHCARE (P) LIMITED is a vaginal capsule containing a combination of antibiotics and antifungals, primarily used to treat various vaginal infections.
Here are some frequently asked questions about Mymazole Vaginal Capsule:
What is Mymazole Vaginal Capsule used for?
Mymazole Vaginal Capsule is used to treat various vaginal infections, including bacterial vaginosis (BV), fungal vaginal infections (candidiasis or yeast infections), and parasitic infections (trichomoniasis). It helps manage symptoms such as increased or abnormal vaginal discharge, foul smell, itching, and irritation in the vagina.
How does Mymazole Vaginal Capsule work?
Mymazole Vaginal Capsule contains three active ingredients: Clindamycin, Clotrimazole, and Tinidazole. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that stops bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis essential for bacteria. Clotrimazole is an antifungal medicine that prevents fungi from growing by damaging their protective cell membrane. Tinidazole is another antibiotic and antiprotozoal that kills infectious microorganisms by damaging their DNA.
What is the usual dosage and how should it be used?
Mymazole Vaginal Capsule is for vaginal application only. It is typically inserted into the vagina, usually once a day, at night before going to bed. It can be inserted with or without an applicator as directed on the label or by your doctor. It's important to wash your hands before and after using the capsule. The full course of treatment should be completed even if symptoms improve.
What are the possible side effects of Mymazole Vaginal Capsule?
Common side effects may include a mild burning sensation, stinging, itching, or irritation at the application site. Other reported side effects can include frequent urination, vulvovaginal disorders, vaginal pain, fungal infection, dark urine, or a metallic taste. If these side effects persist, worsen, or if you experience allergic reactions like rashes, swelling, or shortness of breath, consult your doctor.
Is Mymazole Vaginal Capsule safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
There are limited studies on the effects of Mymazole Vaginal Capsule during pregnancy. It is advised to use it only after consulting your doctor, and it should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy. For breastfeeding mothers, systemic absorption of the medicine after vaginal administration is negligible, but it's still recommended to consult your doctor for advice.
Can Mymazole Vaginal Capsule be taken with other medications?
Mymazole Vaginal Capsule is generally used externally and is less likely to be affected by other medicines you may be taking. However, you should inform your doctor about all prescription and non-prescription medicines, including vitamins and herbal supplements, you are using. Clotrimazole and mineral oil additives in the capsule may weaken the effectiveness of latex condoms, diaphragms, or cervical caps, so alternative birth control methods should be used during treatment.
What precautions should be taken while using Mymazole Vaginal Capsule?
Avoid contact with your eyes; if accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. It is advisable to avoid sexual intercourse during the treatment period as it can reduce the medicine's effectiveness and increase irritation. Do not use Mymazole Vaginal Capsule if you are allergic to any of its components or have certain underlying conditions like bowel diseases (colitis), blood disorders, or nervous system problems. Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 3 days.
What happens if a dose of Mymazole Vaginal Capsule is missed?
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment as advised by your doctor, even if you start to feel better. Specific instructions for a missed dose are not detailed, but generally, if you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, in which case you should skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
How should Mymazole Vaginal Capsule be stored?
Mymazole Vaginal Capsule should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, at a temperature between 10°C to 25°C or below 30°C. Keep it out of reach of children.
