SONADERM -NM CREAM by BLUE CROSS LABORATORIES LTD

Name: Sonaderm -NM Cream

Composition: Sonaderm -NM Cream contains a combination of three active ingredients: Clobetasol Propionate IP 0.05% w/w, Miconazole Nitrate IP 2.0% w/w, and Neomycin Sulphate IP 0.5% w/w. It also includes Chlorocresol IP 0.1% w/w and a cream base (q.s.). Clobetasol is a potent corticosteroid, Miconazole is an antifungal agent, and Neomycin is an antibiotic.

Uses: Sonaderm -NM Cream is primarily used to treat various skin infections caused by bacteria and fungi. It is effective in managing resistant dermatoses (skin infections) with secondary bacterial or fungal infections. This cream helps to reduce symptoms like redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with conditions such as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, eczema with infection, and other inflammatory skin problems. In some cases, it may also be recommended for localized psoriasis.

Dosage and Administration: This medicine is for external use only. A thin layer of the cream should be applied gently and evenly to the affected areas of the skin using clean, dry hands. The typical dosage can range from once to twice daily, or as advised by a doctor. Patients should wash their hands before and after application, unless the hands are the area being treated. It is crucial to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by the doctor, even if symptoms improve earlier.

Side Effects: Common side effects at the application site include burning or stinging sensation, itching, dryness, irritation, and redness. Other possible side effects include thinning of the skin and hypopigmentation (lightening of skin color). Serious side effects are rare, but patients should seek medical attention if they experience allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling, or shortness of breath.

Precautions:

  • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or other mucous membranes. Rinse thoroughly with water if accidental contact occurs.
  • Do not apply to open wounds or broken skin without consulting a healthcare provider.
  • Avoid covering the treated area with bandages or occlusive dressings unless specifically advised by a doctor, as this can increase absorption and the risk of side effects.
  • Sonaderm -NM Cream is not recommended for conditions like rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus, or viral infections (e.g., herpes simplex, chickenpox).
  • Use with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women, and in children, only after consulting a doctor.
  • Long-term use or application to large areas of skin should be avoided as it may lead to systemic side effects like adrenal suppression or Cushing's syndrome.
  • Inform your doctor about any existing skin conditions, viral infections, liver disease, or if you are taking other medications.

Storage: Store the medicine in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, at a temperature below 25°C or below 30°C. Keep it out of sight and reach of children and pets. Do not freeze.
