Frequently asked questions

What is TRAVO Z EYE DROP used for?

TRAVO Z EYE DROP is used to manage elevated pressure inside the eye in adults. This includes conditions like ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. Glaucoma is a group of diseases that can damage the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss, while ocular hypertension refers to higher-than-normal eye pressure without immediate optic nerve damage.

How does TRAVO Z EYE DROP work?

TRAVO Z EYE DROP contains Travoprost, which is a prostaglandin analogue. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor (the fluid inside the eye) from the eye, thereby lowering the increased intraocular pressure. This helps to protect the optic nerve from damage.

What is the usual dosage for TRAVO Z EYE DROP?

The usual dosage for TRAVO Z EYE DROP is typically one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening or at night, as directed by your doctor. It is important to follow your doctor's prescribed dosage and not to use more than the recommended amount, as this may decrease its effectiveness.

What are the possible side effects of TRAVO Z EYE DROP?

Common side effects can include eye redness (ocular hyperemia), eye pain, discomfort, irritation, a foreign body sensation in the eye, and dry or itchy eyes. Other possible side effects include changes in eye color (increased iris pigmentation), increased length, thickness, pigmentation, or number of eyelashes, and darkening of the skin around the eye. Some individuals may also experience blurred vision or decreased vision.

Is TRAVO Z EYE DROP safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

TRAVO Z EYE DROP is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy or by women who are breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, it is crucial to consult your doctor, who will weigh the potential benefits against the risks. Women capable of having children should use adequate contraception during treatment.

Can TRAVO Z EYE DROP be taken with other medications?

Before using TRAVO Z EYE DROP, inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription, non-prescription, and herbal medications. If you are using other eye drops, instill them at least five to ten minutes apart to ensure proper absorption and prevent dilution. Simultaneous use with other prostaglandin analogues (like latanoprost or bimatoprost) is generally not recommended as it offers no additional benefit and may increase side effects.

What precautions should be taken while using TRAVO Z EYE DROP?

Remove contact lenses before applying TRAVO Z EYE DROP and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface to prevent contamination. If you experience blurred vision or visual disturbances, avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart disease, eye inflammation, had cataract surgery, or have a history of herpetic keratitis or dry eye syndrome.

What happens if a dose of TRAVO Z EYE DROP is missed?

If you miss a dose of TRAVO Z EYE DROP, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

How should TRAVO Z EYE DROP be stored?

Store TRAVO Z EYE DROP away from children. Unopened bottles should be stored in a refrigerator. After opening, keep it at room temperature (below 30°C or between 2°C - 25°C) and protect it from light. It should typically be used within 2 to 4 weeks after opening.
