Frequently asked questions

What is Volini Pain Relief Gel used for?

Volini Pain Relief Gel is used for the quick relief of acute musculoskeletal pain, including backache, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, and ankle pain. It is also effective for managing pain associated with arthritis, sprains, strains, muscle pulls, and sports injuries.

How does Volini Pain Relief Gel work?

Volini Pain Relief Gel works through a combination of active ingredients: Diclofenac diethylamine (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID), Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, and Linseed Oil. Diclofenac helps by blocking the release of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Methyl Salicylate and Menthol provide an initial cooling sensation followed by a warming effect, which interferes with pain signal transmission through nerves and helps to desensitize nerve endings. Linseed oil contributes to reducing swelling and inflammation.

What is the usual dosage for Volini Pain Relief Gel?

Volini Pain Relief Gel is for external (topical) use only. A small amount should be gently rubbed into the affected area 3-4 times daily, or as directed by your doctor. It is important to wash your hands thoroughly after applying the gel, unless your hands are the area being treated. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

What are the possible side effects of Volini Pain Relief Gel?

Common side effects can include localized skin reactions such as burning, itching, redness, stinging, dryness, skin irritation, or a rash at the application site. These side effects are generally mild and temporary. If they persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult your doctor.

Is Volini Pain Relief Gel safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

During pregnancy, it is recommended to consult your doctor before using Volini Pain Relief Gel. It is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy. When breastfeeding, topical pain relief gels like Volini are generally considered safe due to minimal absorption into the bloodstream. However, it is best to consult a doctor and ensure the gel is not applied near the breast area to prevent accidental ingestion by the baby.

Can Volini Pain Relief Gel be taken with other medications?

Volini Pain Relief Gel has no known interactions with orally taken medications. However, topical salicylates (an ingredient in Volini) have been reported in isolated cases to potentially increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Caution should be exercised if using systemic NSAIDs concurrently, as this may increase the incidence of systemic side effects. Always inform your doctor about all medications you are currently using.

What precautions should be taken when using Volini Pain Relief Gel?

Volini Pain Relief Gel is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose, mucous membranes, open wounds, cuts, or irritated skin. If accidental contact occurs, rinse the area thoroughly with water. Do not apply more than the recommended dose, and avoid using external heat or occlusive dressings (airtight bandages) on the treated area. It should not be used in children below two years of age. Caution is advised for children aged 2-12 years, particularly if they have viral flu, chickenpox, or viral fever, as the methyl salicylate component may induce Reye's Syndrome. Consult a doctor if your pain persists for more than 7 days or if your condition worsens or recurs. Patients with a history of asthma or allergies to NSAIDs should use this medicine with caution.

What happens if a dose of Volini Pain Relief Gel is missed?

Volini Pain Relief Gel is typically applied when pain occurs. If you are following a regular application schedule and miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.

How should Volini Pain Relief Gel be stored?

Volini Pain Relief Gel should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat. The ideal storage temperature is typically between 10°C and 25°C or below 30°C. Do not freeze the product. Always keep it out of the sight and reach of children.
