LACRIMOS G Eye Drops

LACRIMOS G Eye Drops, manufactured by Lupin Ltd., is an ophthalmic lubricant designed to provide relief from dry eyes.

Composition

LACRIMOS G Eye Drops contain the active ingredients Carboxymethylcellulose (0.5% w/v) and Oxychloro Complex (0.005% w/v). Carboxymethylcellulose acts as a lubricating agent, similar to natural tears, to moisturize the eyes. Oxychloro Complex functions as a preservative to maintain product stability and prevent contamination.

Uses

LACRIMOS G Eye Drops are primarily prescribed for the management of dry eyes, a condition where the eyes do not produce sufficient tears to stay moist. It helps alleviate symptoms such as discomfort, irritation, burning, and a foreign body sensation in the eye. This medicine is also used to relieve dryness caused by exposure to wind or sun, and following eye surgeries like laser or cataract surgery. Additionally, it protects the eyes from further irritation.

Dosage and Administration

Always use LACRIMOS G Eye Drops as advised by your doctor. It is intended for ophthalmic use only.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the medicine.
  • Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to form a pocket.
  • Hold the dropper close to your eye without touching the eye surface.
  • Gently squeeze the dropper to release the prescribed number of drops into the lower eyelid pocket.
  • Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes and avoid blinking or squeezing.
  • Wipe away any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
  • If you wear contact lenses, remove them before instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Do not use more than the suggested amount.

Side Effects

Common side effects of LACRIMOS G Eye Drops may include:

  • Stinging or burning sensation in the eye
  • Irritation or itching of the eye
  • Blurred or impaired vision
  • Redness at the application site

Stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe allergic reactions, eye pain, worsening or severe redness or irritation of the eye, or impaired vision.
