Composition

MIRAGO 50 MG TABLET contains Mirabegron 50 mg as its active ingredient. Mirabegron is a selective beta-3 adrenergic agonist.

Uses

MIRAGO 50 MG TABLET is primarily used to treat symptoms of an overactive bladder (OAB). This condition is characterized by urinary incontinence, frequent urination, and a sudden, urgent need to urinate. The medicine works by relaxing the muscles of the urinary bladder, which increases its capacity to store urine and reduces unwanted contractions.

Dosage and Administration

This medicine is typically taken once daily, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed. It is crucial to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by a physician and not to discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor, as this may worsen symptoms.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include constipation, headache, high blood pressure, nasal inflammation (nasopharyngitis), urinary tract infection, fast heart rate, joint pain, nausea, diarrhea, and dizziness. Blurred vision has also been reported. If any side effects persist or become bothersome, it is important to consult a healthcare provider.

Precautions

Do not take MIRAGO 50 MG TABLET if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Patients should inform their doctor if they have kidney or liver disease (especially severe), hypertension (particularly uncontrolled), urinary retention, angioedema, or a history of heart rhythm problems (including QT prolongation). Caution is advised for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and consultation with a doctor is necessary. The medication may cause dizziness, so caution is advised when driving or operating heavy machinery. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended as it may raise blood pressure. It is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Interactions with other medications such as thioridazine, imipramine, desipramine, flecainide, propafenone, and digoxin should be discussed with a doctor.

Storage

MIRAGO 50 MG TABLET should be stored at room temperature (10°C to 30°C), protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most frequently asked questions about MIRAGO 50 MG TABLET:

What is Mirago 50 MG Tablet used for?

Mirago 50 MG Tablet is primarily used to treat the symptoms of an overactive bladder (OAB) in adults. These symptoms include a sudden and uncontrollable urge to urinate (urgency), frequent urination throughout the day and night (increased urinary frequency), and the unintentional loss of urine (urgency incontinence).

How does Mirago 50 MG Tablet work?

Mirago 50 MG Tablet contains Mirabegron, which is a beta-3 adrenergic agonist. It works by activating specific receptors in the bladder muscles, causing them to relax during the storage phase of the urinary bladder fill-void cycle. This relaxation helps to increase the bladder's capacity to hold more urine, thereby reducing the feelings of urgency and the need to urinate frequently.

What is the usual dosage for Mirago 50 MG Tablet?

The usual recommended dose of Mirago 50 MG Tablet is 50 mg, taken once daily. It can be taken with or without food. It is important to swallow the tablet whole without crushing, chewing, or breaking it. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment based on your condition.

What are the possible side effects of Mirago 50 MG Tablet?

Common side effects of Mirago 50 MG Tablet may include constipation, headache, high blood pressure, nasal inflammation (nasopharyngitis), urinary tract infection, fast heart rate (tachycardia), nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, and indigestion. Most of these side effects are temporary and usually resolve over time. If they persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Is Mirago 50 MG Tablet safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Mirago 50 MG Tablet is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary, as there is limited information about its safety and animal studies have shown harmful effects on the unborn baby. Women who could become pregnant are advised to use proper birth control measures. It is also generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women, as components of the medicine may pass into breast milk. Always consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can Mirago 50 MG Tablet be taken with other medications?

You should inform your doctor about all other medicines, herbal preparations, and supplements you are taking to avoid potential interactions. Mirago 50 MG Tablet should be used with caution with certain medications, including those used to treat mental health conditions (like thioridazine, imipramine, desipramine) and heart problems (like flecainide, propafenone, digoxin). It can also interact with some antidepressants, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives (like metoprolol), and antipsychotics (like thioridazine).

What precautions should be taken with Mirago 50 MG Tablet?

Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease (especially severe cases), uncontrolled high blood pressure, urinary retention, angioedema, or a history of heart rhythm problems (including QT prolongation). Mirago 50 MG Tablet may cause dizziness or blurred vision, so caution is advised when driving or operating heavy machinery. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption as it may increase the risk of side effects. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure.

What happens if a dose of Mirago 50 MG Tablet is missed?

If you miss a dose of Mirago 50 MG Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

How should Mirago 50 MG Tablet be stored?

Mirago 50 MG Tablet should be stored in a cool and dry place, protected from moisture and heat, and away from direct sunlight. Keep it out of sight and reach of children and pets. It should generally be stored at room temperature (10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC). Do not use the medicine after its expiry date.
